Atlanta: Heavy Rain to Fall as Temperatures Drop at Midweek

December will kick off with rain and cloudy skies in the Atlanta area.
While temperatures will stay in the low 70s F for the first half of the week, well above the normal average, rain will spoil the mild weather.
"Rounds of soaking rain will fall over Atlanta into Wednesday," AccuWeather Meteorologist Alyson Hoegg said.

Behind the rain, a noticeable change is in store for the region.
"Skies will turn dry late in the week but temperatures will fall back to normal," Hoegg said.
Wednesday's high is expected to reach into the upper 50s, more than 10 degrees below the high in the beginning of the week.
