Umbrellas will once again be needed around Baltimore and Washington, D.C., starting by the end of Monday.
High pressure allowing the new week to start on a dry note will not hold through the entirety of Monday. Instead, clouds will be on the increase and a storm system from the south will cause a bit of rain to arrive by day's end.
Prior to the clouds and the rain streaming in, the only weather delay commuters will encounter Monday morning will be in the coldest suburbs, where extra time will be spent scraping frost off windshields.
Since numerous downpours and widespread flooding should be confined to the Atlantic coast of the Delmarva Peninsula, Tuesday's rain will be mostly a nuisance for travelers and those with outdoor plans.
Reduced visibility and spray from other vehicles will slow down motorists. Outdoor activities could be forced indoors or postponed.
