Following a storm that brought freezing rain and icy conditions earlier in the week, the Dallas area will see periods of rain through Saturday morning.
Saturday will start out damp, but as the day wears on it will dry out, according to AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Dan Kottlowski. The area will receive between 1-1.75 inches of rain through Saturday, he added.
"That will be a pretty good soaking rain for them," he said.
Daytime temperatures will be in the low 50s for the first half of the weekend, before dropping into the mid-30s by Sunday and the early part of next week.
A normal high temperature for early January in Dallas is in the mid-50s.
Track the incoming rain to your precise location and stay alert to rapidly changing conditions by using MinuteCast® if you are traveling or headed outside.
On Sunday night, temperatures will be in the low to mid-20s, the coldest weather to hit the region since Nov. 18, Kottlowski said.
