After dry, sunny weather is expected to take over through the end of the workweek, a storm will dampen part of the weekend with lower temperatures following into next week.
Despite brighter skies through this week, Atlanta will have below-average temperatures and a light breeze into Friday.
Temperatures on Saturday will reach the month's average, which is in the mid-50s during the day. Overnight average temperatures lows will hover in the 30s. Lower temperatures and rain will return into the later weekend.
A weather system moving in from the southwest will reach Atlanta in the latter part of the weekend, hitting the area with possible thunderstorms and a significant amount of rain.
According to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Tom Kines, Sunday afternoon and evening have the best chance of rainy weather.
