Following a couple of days of drier weather to end the week, steady snowfall may return to the Detroit area by Sunday, depending on which direction an evolving storm system takes.
"High pressure is going to be in briefly in control Friday, providing a break between the [recent storm] and this next potential system," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Danielle Knittle said.

The evolving storm system is expected to move across the central and southern Plains states through the start of the weekend.

"It's going to be a question of how far north it goes because it might stay to the south of the area," Knittle said.

Depending on which track the storm takes, the chance for snow will remain throughout Sunday and Sunday night.
"It could still linger into the start of the week on Monday," Knittle said.
Temperatures will also slide through the weekend with high sinking down into the 20s and teens by the start of the new week.
The average high is around 32 F, Knittle added.
