Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday,January 25,2015

A low pressure system will move across the Midwest on Sunday, while a ridge of high pressure will persist over the Southwest.

An area of low pressure will drift southeastward over the Midwest, the Tennessee Valley and the interior Mid-Atlantic. During the first half of the day, this system will usher light to moderate snow across the upper Intermountain West, the upper Midwest and the Ohio Valley. A mixture of rain and snow will impact the middle Mississippi Valley. During Sunday afternoon and evening, rain and snow will spread eastward across the Tennessee Valley and the interior Mid-Atlantic. Light rain will develop as far south as northern Mississippi, northern Alabama and northwest Georgia. Conditions will stay relatively calm across the southern Plains and the Gulf Coast.

Meanwhile, light snow showers will linger over parts of northern New England during the morning as a low pressure system moves northeastward over eastern Canada.

Out west, a ridge of high pressure will remain parked over the Great Basin and the Southwest. Temperatures are forecast to jump into the upper 70s and lower 80s across southern California on Sunday. In addition, high pressure will initiate gusty winds across southwest California. High wind warnings are already in effect from Ventura County to San Diego County.
