Colder than normal May turns into an even colder June? Stubborn weather pattern prompts NYC residents to wonder if summer will ever come

Thanks to a stubborn trough that has brought endless low pressure systems and intrusions of chilly, Canadian air into the Northeastern US over the past few months has made the 2017 spring season one of the wettest, stormiest and coldest on record, especially after such a mild, snowless winter that was the 2016-17 winter season (despite mid-May mini-heat-wave and the forecasted one for June 11-14 notwithstanding). This has especially been the case so far in June 2017,as temps throughout the Northeast and NYC area,in particular, through June 9, have been running a good 5-10 degrees below normal for the month so far. Here's the temperature and rainfall statistics for White Plains,NY,in the northern suburbs of Westchester County for June 2017 so far,as of 1:30AM,EDT,June 13,2017 from accuweather.com
