This system is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by Thursday as wind shear decreases. Once again, it won't threaten the Mexican Pacific coast, moving toward the west-northwest.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
  • Tropical Storm Ivette was located over 950 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California.
  • This sytem is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by Thursday.
  • That strengthening phase is expected to be short-lived, once Ivette begins to experience increasing wind shear, drier air, and tracks over cooler water this weekend.
  • This system is currently no threat to any land areas.
