Tropical Storm Howard became the eighth eastern Pacific tropical cyclone to form in less than one month's time early Monday morning.

Once again, this system won't threaten the Mexican Pacific coast, moving toward the west-northwest, and will have a relatively short lifetime.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
- Tropical Storm Howard was located nearly 1,000 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California as of Monday.
- Some additional strengthening is possible into Tuesday, before weakening ensues after that.
- This system is no threat to any land areas.
