Satellite imagery this weekend showed an interesting sight near Japan as a trio of tropical systems spun near the country.
On Sunday morning, Tropical Storm Lionrock was located off of Japan's southwest coast while Tropical Storm Kompasu was well to the north near Hokkaido Island. In between was Tropical Storm Mindulle, which strengthened into a typhoon early Monday morning, local time, according to the Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA).
Mindulle will be the most impactful storm for Japan in the near-term.
