Reported Tornado Damages Homes, Flips Semi in Yulee, Florida

The National Weather Service said a damaging storm that rolled through a northeastern Florida town likely spawned at least one tornado Thursday afternoon.
Minutes before 2 p.m. EDT, the reported tornado was spotted on radar near the town of Yulee, and debris was being lofted into the air. The storm blew a semi truck onto its side on State Road 200, damaging several cars as it fell, according to News4Jax.com.

Emergency managers said at least 40 homes were damaged in the Meadowfield Bluffs subdivision, but the extent of that damage wasn't immediately known, WOKV.com said.

Trees were downed on multiple homes and vehicles across the city, but there were no reports of injuries, News4Jax.com added.
Florida Power and Light said more than 1,300 customers lost power in Nassau County following the storms, First Coast News reported.
Although the NWS confirmed the tornado via radar data, a team of meteorologists will have to survey the damage to determine how strong the twister was when it damaged trees and homes in Yulee.
