Hot temperatures will continue to be the rule over the Seattle area through early next week.
"September of last year was the last time the temperature reached 90 degrees F. Record high temperatures will be challenged this weekend and this pattern will continue into early next week," AccuWeather Meteorologist Mike Doll said.
The average high temperature for this time of June in the Seattle area is only in the low 70s.

The persistent heat will continue Seattle's trend for the month of June so far, with temperatures averaging about 5.7 degrees above normal.
No rain is expected for the foreseeable future.
While the lack of rainfall may prove beneficial to those looking to spend time outside, it will not bring any relief to Washington's drought concerns with more than 70 percent of the state in some level of drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
