Several days through the July Fourth weekend will bring the potential for showers and thunderstorms to the New York City area, up to the mountains and down at the beaches.
The wettest part of the period is likely to be through Thursday night, when multiple downpours can occur.
The weather pattern will turn gradually more humid over the region through the week. There is a chance of a slight drop in humidity levels over the holiday weekend itself.
