Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,November 23,2013
A low pressure system associated with a cold front will linger over the
Southwest on Saturday, while a more extensive cold frontal boundary will
stretch from the Gulf Coast to the New England coast.
Rain and snow will continue to fall in parts of southern California and
Nevada on Saturday, but the bulk of the precipitation associated with a
lingering low pressure system will be situated over the four corners.
This will bring moderate to heavy rain to Arizona and New Mexico, while
heavy snow will push across eastern Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New
Mexico. The Pacific Northwest will stay clear of wet weather on Saturday
as a ridge of high pressure builds over the region.
Meanwhile, an arctic air mass will continue to spread southward over the
central U.S., and is expected to move eastward during the later portion
of Saturday. Sub zero temperatures will be possible across the northern
Plains, the upper Midwest and into parts of the Northeast, while
further south, temperatures will drop into the single digits and teens.
The cold front associated with this system will trigger freezing rain
across Texas, while rain and thunderstorms will push across the Gulf
Coast and parts of the Southeast. To the east, Snow will be possible in
the Ohio Valley and parts of the Northeast due to a low pressure system
over the Great Lakes.
