Active weather can be expected in the Pacific Northwest on Saturday,
while a frontal boundary will move across the central third of the
country.
A cold front will move across the Pacific Northwest during Saturday
morning before moving over the Great Basin and Intermountain West.
Moderate to heavy rain will push across the region, while strong winds
will drive heavy snow showers across the Cascades and northern Rockies.
Over a foot of snow can be expected at high elevations, while several
inches of snow can be expected in the central Rockies Saturday night.
The Southwest will stay clear of wet weather, as the southern California
and Arizona deserts will experience temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
A separate frontal boundary will move out of the Rockies and across the
central Plains on Saturday. As this system moves eastward, it will
interact will a warm, muggy air mass and is expected to trigger showers
and thunderstorms over the central Plains and upper Midwest. A low
pressure system over northern Texas will also provide rain and
thunderstorms to parts of the southern Plains and Southwest.
A frontal boundary will approach the southwestern coast of Florida on
Saturday, as showers and thunderstorms will continue to pop up over the
state. Rainy conditions will also be possible along the Mid-Atlantic
coast, while the Northeast will avoid precipitation.
