A few severe thunderstorms, with damaging winds, large hail and locally heavy rain, will take aim at the northern plains and upper Midwest early this week.
The threat will focus on the northern Plains Tuesday, especially the Dakotas, before shifting eastward toward Minnesota by Wednesday.

Severe Weather Forecast
Tuesday- Forecast: Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop Tuesday afternoon and evening across parts of Montana and the Dakotas.
- Threats: Large hail and damaging wind gusts are the primary threats, but an isolated tornado is possible.
- Cities: Bismarck, North Dakota | Aberdeen, South Dakota
Tuesday's Thunderstorm Forecast
- Forecast: Storms may be ongoing in the morning over North Dakota, but additional thunderstorms should develop in the afternoon and evening farther in North Dakota and parts of Minnesota.
- Threats: Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the main threats, although an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.
- Cities: Fargo | Grand Forks | St. Cloud, Minnesota
