Battling the elements: How weather has played a role during past Summer Olympics

Weather conditions have played a major role in the Olympic Games throughout the years, and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro is no different.
High winds have already caused rowing and tennis events to be postponed, but more favorable weather is expected to move into Rio over the next several days.
Warm and dry weather is forecast to build over the city by the end of the week and will continue into the second week of the Summer Games. High temperatures will climb into the upper 70s and middle 80s F (25 to 30 C).
