Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday,July 5,2016

An area of low pressure will bring active weather to the north central section of the country on Tuesday, while high pressure builds over the Southwest.

An area of low pressure will transition east northeastward across the northern Plains and the upper Midwest. This system will generate rain and thunderstorms across the central Rockies, the central Plains, the northern Plains and the upper Midwest. Severe thunderstorms will be possible in southeast North Dakota, eastern South Dakota, northeast Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, northeast Missouri, northwest Illinois and Wisconsin. These thunderstorms will be capable of producing large hail, dangerous straight line winds and isolated tornadoes. In addition, heavy rain will bring threats of flash flooding to southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Just to the west, an onshore flow from the Pacific will generate scattered showers in northwest Oregon, western Washington and across the northern Rockies. A cool weather pattern can also be expected along the coast of the Pacific Northwest. Warm and dry weather will prevail across the Great Basin, the Southwest and the southern Plains on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a wave of low pressure will shift east northeastward across the central Appalachians and the northern Mid-Atlantic. Widespread rain and thunderstorms will fire up in Deep South, the Southeast, the Appalachians, the Mid-Atlantic and New England.
