The Formula One season continues this weekend with disruptive showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim.
This will be the third consecutive F1 race to force drivers and spectators to contend with rain.

Wet weather plagued the British Grand Prix on 10 July, resulting in several spinouts and accidents and leading to the early withdrawal of drivers, according to The NewsWheel.
The Hungarian Grand Prix also suffered ill effects from the rain as downpours caused qualifying chaos on Saturday.

According to Sky Sports, four red flags and three crashes plagued qualifying races as numerous downpours drenched the track.
The weather will once again be a factor in the racing as a storm system sweeping from France through southern Germany on Sunday triggers scattered showers and thunderstorms.

While it remains a possibility that the storms will avoid Hockenheimring, a more likely scenario will feature at least some rainfall with the potential for brief downpours during Sunday's race.
Anyone attending the event will want to be prepared for the rainfall and also heed any warnings issued by event staff in regards to the weather.

Outside of the threat for showers and thunderstorms, there will be a mixture of clouds and sunshine with a high temperature near 27 C (80 F).
A spotty shower or thunderstorm is possible on Friday during the first two practice sessions; however, the final practice session and qualifying look to be rain-free on Saturday.
