Tropical Storm Frank Struggling to Become a Hurricane

Tropical Storm Frank is moving northwestward well off the Pacific coast of Mexico. Frank marks the sixth tropical storm to form in the eastern Pacific this month.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
  • Frank was located around 240 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, as of Saturday evening.
  • The storm is forecast to maintain strength for a couple of days until it reaches cooler water.
  • Frank is no threat to the U.S. mainland, but could bring higher waves to the Mexican coast.
Frank passed north of Socorro Island on Saturday evening with winds of 65 mph. The island reported wind gusts to 53 mph.
