Tropical Storm Darby is gradually taking the lead as the strongest tropical cyclone of the moment during this latest spurt of eastern Pacific activity.
While not a threat to land, it will become a hurricane soon.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
- Tropical Storm Darby is located just over 550 miles south-southwest of Los Cabos, Mexico.
- Darby will likely become a hurricane Wednesday and should continue strengthening through Thursday night.
- Darby will then weaken with farther westward extent from Friday into the weekend, similar to the past three storms (Agatha, Blas, and Celia).
- Darby is no threat to any land areas at this time for at least the next five days.
