Cloudy, unsettled weather will be the theme in the Detroit area through the weekend before the return of sunny, warm conditions.
"Those hoping for an extended period of dry weather in a large part of the eastern United States will have to wait a few more weeks," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said.
People will want to watch out for rain and thunderstorms on Thursday with the potential for a heavy, gusty thunderstorm during the afternoon or evening.

Friday may turn out to be the nicest day until the middle of next week as drier air sweeps across the region.
Highs are forecast to run in the 60s F with a mix of clouds and sunshine.

As quick as the dry weather moves in, it will depart with cloudy, cool and showery weather returning for the weekend.
Highs on both Saturday and Sunday will reach only into the middle 50s F, more than 10 degrees below normal. Both days will also feature the chance for showers.
Another cloudy, cool and wet day is on tap for next Monday before the return of sunshine and more seasonable temperatures.
