This weekend will feel more like the end of July than May throughout Germany with heat, humidity and thunderstorms on tap.
Temperatures will soar as high as 29 C (84 F) in Berlin and surrounding areas on Sunday.
While temperatures will not be as high in Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich, the combination of warmth, high dew points and occasional sunshine will result in AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures climbing to near 30 C (86 F) at times both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
The only reprieve from the warmth will be during showers and thunderstorms that will increase in coverage and intensity throughout the weekend.
Rockavaria Music Festival in Munich could be impacted by thunderstorms throughout the three-day event which concludes on Sunday.
The greatest threat, however, will be from Stuttgart to Frankfurt, Cologne and Dusseldorf where showers and thunderstorms will be widespread both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, the strongest storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall, gusty winds and small hail.
Rainfall amounts of 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) will be possible over the course of the weekend.

Farther north and east, showers and thunderstorms will be isolated on Saturday before becoming more numerous on Sunday for areas from Hamburg to Berlin and Dresden.
Those spending time outdoors should seek shelter when thunder is heard, as lightning strikes are possible.
This stormy and summerlike pattern will continue early next week with additional showers and thunderstorms expected throughout the country both Monday and Tuesday.
