Thunderstorms produced severe weather across parts of South Australia and northern Victoria on Wednesday, and that threat will shift eastward on Thursday.
Flash flooding, hail and tornadoes were all reported on Wednesday as the storms rushed across southern South Australia into northern Victoria.
While the primary threat from thunderstorms on Thursday will be heavy rainfall, the strongest storms will be capable of producing damaging winds and hail. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
The greatest threat for storms will stretch from Melbourne in the morning to Canberra and Sydney during the afternoon and evening.
