A plane crashed into an apartment building Tuesday afternoon near Akron, Ohio, causing a fire and claiming the lives of all nine people on board.
The plane crash occurred just before 3 p.m., and caused an apartment building to catch fire, according to WOIO, a local news station.
Along with the pilot and copilot, there were seven passengers on board, according to WOIO. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FAA are investigating the cause of the crash.
"A Hawker H25 small jet crashed into an apartment building located at the corner of Mogadore and Skelton Roads in Akron Tuesday afternoon," the City of Akron said in the press release.
The plane clipped a power line before hitting the apartment building and a nearby embankment, the Ohio State Highway Patrol told WOIO. The crash also led to power outages around the area.

At this time, it is unclear if the weather was a direct factor in the cause behind the crash.
There were a lot of low clouds and fog with some light rain around at the time, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Jordan Root.
"Visibility would definitely have been very limited due to the low clouds," Root said, adding that there weren't any strong winds in the area.
