There were six tornado reports on Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center. On Wednesday, the National Weather Service office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, confirmed EF-1 tornadoes near Lake Geneva and Big Bend, Wisconsin.

"The system became a tropical depression on Tuesday morning, a tropical storm on Tuesday afternoon then a hurricane during Thursday morning, local time," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski stated.
Two typhoons churned in the West Pacific this week. Powerful Typhoon Goni battered the Mariana Islands with damaging winds and flooding rain before turning deadly in the Philippines' Luzon Island. Atsani reached super typhoon status but remained well away from land.

"There have been six super typhoons during the 2015 West Pacific Tropical Season thus far, which already surpassed the normal seasonal average of four," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Anthony Sagliani.
Efforts to combat intense wildfires in the Pacific Northwest turned tragic Wednesday night. Three firefighters were killed and four were injured, as they fought a wildfire that forced evacuations in the towns of Twisp, Riverside and Winthrop in Washington state.
