Thunderstorms will have very moist air to tap into. So much moisture, in fact, that any thunderstorm can produce flash flooding.
The heaviest rain during the day Thursday is expected across England and Wales. Heavy rain should hold off until Thursday night in Scotland.
Heavy rain will remain a threat through Thursday night and into part of Friday. Low pressure spewing the threatening weather will move into the North Sea by the end of the day, bringing an end to the wet weather.
