Tropical Depression Ten-E Has Formed in the Eastern Pacific

Highlights:

  • Tropical Depression Ten-E has formed in the Eastern Pacific and is currently about 1,500 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula.
  • Tropical Depression Ten-E is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Hilda in the next day or so as it moves to the west. The system could get near hurricane status this weekend while gradually turning to the northwest.
  • This system is no threat to land over the next five days.
