Tropical Rainstorm Soudelor will continue the risk of flooding rainfall and mudslides in part of eastern China and will turn northeastward toward South Korea and Japan this week.
The former super typhoon took the lives of nearly two dozen people with several still missing in Taiwan and China.

"Into Tuesday, Soudelor will track northward over eastern China, producing additional rainfall of 50 to 100 mm (2-4 inches) with locally up to 200 mm (8 inches)," Leister said.

This amount of rain is enough to cause flash flooding and continue the threat of mudslides.
The downpours will reach Shanghai and Hong Kong.
During the middle part of the week, Soudelor will turn toward the northeast and begin to merge with a non-tropical system.

"We expect locally heavy rain and isolated flash flooding in South Korea later Tuesday into Wednesday and in part of Japan later Wednesday into Thursday," Leister said.
These areas will receive 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) of rain with local amounts of 100 mm (4 inches).

Winds in general will no longer be a threat from Soudelor. However, there will be locally heavy thunderstorms near and southeast of the center of circulation.
"East of where Soudelor tracks will also be at risk for isolated tornadoes," stated AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alan Reppert.
