Temperatures will be on the rise in Seattle this week, approaching record-challenging levels by Wednesday.
The mercury will start to climb on Monday with highs in the lower 80s F, but the hottest days are forecast to be on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"Highs will reach into the upper 80s to near 90 F in some areas," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Alyson Hoegg.

Abundant sunshine will help boost temperatures to near 88 F on Tuesday and Wednesday, the record highs for both days.
People should take the proper precautions to cope with the hot weather, such as drinking plenty of water and avoiding strenuous activities during the heat of the afternoon.

Temperatures are forecast to fall back into the 70s for Thursday and Friday, close to the normal high of 76 F.
"Most places will end up dry for the majority of the week," said Hoegg, with the only chance for a shower coming on Thursday night and Friday morning.
