Unsettled weather and a touch of humidity will hold around New York City before a stretch of sunny, dry and less humid conditions move in at midweek.
An area of low pressure will remain off the coast of the Northeast into Monday, but spotty showers and thunderstorms will attempt to move in from the Atlantic Coast into parts of the Northeast.
These showers and storms could move across the city to end the weekend. This could lead to weather delays for the series finale between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians on Sunday afternoon.
A cold front will swing toward the East Coast at early week, bringing with it the threat for a shower or thunderstorm.
According to AccuWeather Meteorologist Ed Vallee, "Warm, muggy conditions will invade the city at early week with daytime high temperatures well into the 80s."
These storms are expected to remain below severe limits but could contain gusty winds and brief downpours.
"The front will slow down significantly Monday night along the I-95 corridor allowing the shower/storm chance to last into Tuesday," Vallee said.
Those heading to Yankee Stadium for a three-game set between the Yankees and the Houston Astros should bring a raincoat and umbrella in case wet weather rolls in.
After the passage of the cold front, a stretch of refreshing weather looks to take hold into the weekend.
