Rain has postponed Saturday night's NASCAR race at Richmond International Raceway. The race has been rescheduled for Sunday with the green flag set to fly at 1 p.m. EDT
After a dry start to the race weekend, rain has moved into the Richmond area. Additional rain will follow through Saturday night.

BREAKING: The has been postponed to tomorrow at 1 PM ET and will air on FOX.

"There are signs that the rain will break for a time later this evening, potentially giving drivers an opportunity to get all or a large chunk of the race in before more rain returns later at night," stated AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski.
With the race canceled for Saturday, NASCAR officials will have to wait until Sunday's rain gradually tapers off in the afternoon.
Fortunately, Monday looks to be drier and warmer. This means that if NASCAR ends up postponing the race until Monday, the drivers will finally be able to take to the track and race.

Rain delays are fresh in the minds of NASCAR fans following last week's race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Four separate rain delays caused the race to finish more than nine hours after it was scheduled to start, but the race was able to be run in its entirety.
