Showers will work back into the nation's capital on Monday before a turn to a dry and milder midweek.
The weekend ended on a dry note in Washington, D.C., after rain pushed through Saturday night.
The dry spell will end on Monday as showers drift down from the north, reaching Washington, D.C., in the afternoon. Temperatures will otherwise remain on the cool side for late April.
Monday will not be a washout as the showers will be spotty in nature, allowing parts of the city and the day to be dry.

Regardless, those with outdoor plans should prepare for some interruptions or have other rain gear handy.

The departure of the showers will give way to a stretch of dry weather Tuesday through Wednesday. Temperatures will rise to around the 70-degree mark each day, which is common for this time of year.
While a breeze will blow on Tuesday, more clouds will stream overhead on Wednesday.
The chance for showers will return on Thursday as a storm system from Canada drops into the Northeast and another storm system set to move through the South with soaking rain reaches the central East Coast. Whether just a passing shower or a steadier rain wets Washington, D.C., later in the week will depend on whether or not these two features merge together.
