A winterlike storm system tracked across the Middle Atlantic states in mid-October of 2009. The combination of this storm and fresh cold air to the north resulted in a small area of heavy, wet snow over Pennsylvania and the southern tier of upstate New York. There were localized snowfall amounts in excess of 7 inches.
