Halloween is just under a week away, but the good news is that the majority of the country may be able to enjoy rain-free trick-or-treating based on early forecast projections.
At this time, parts of the nation's northern tier are at risk for some wet weather, but even that precipitation may be limited.

Temperatures look to be above average next Monday in much of the central and southern states, so a fairly nice October day is in store for a large swath of the Lower 48 states.
Keep in mind that since this forecast is far out in time, it's subject to change, so check back for updates.
Northeast
There is a chance for some showers in New England, but that will depend on if a low-pressure system lingers near the coast or pushes out to sea.Temperatures will generally be near average for late October with highs in the 40s and 50s across New England and 60s in the mid-Atlantic.

South
High pressure will dominate the South, so the forecast is looking like a treat right now from the southern Plains and lower Mississippi Valley into the Southeast with plenty of sunshine.Highs are forecast to be 10 to 20 degrees above average for this time of year, mainly in the 70s and 80s.

Midwest
There is some chance for cloudy conditions and possibly rain showers near the Canadian border as a low-pressure system moves through, but the rest of the Midwest is looking dry at the moment.Temperatures across much of the region will be above average.
The core of the mild conditions may set up from parts of Nebraska and Kansas to Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and southern Wisconsin where highs could be 10 to 20 degrees warmer than Oct. 31 averages. This translates into high temperatures in the 70s for most locations.

West
The Northwest will have the greatest chance for some wet weather on Halloween due to a southward dip in the jet stream over the region. At the moment, any precipitation that does occur should not be heavy.Southern California into the Great Basin, Rockies and Desert Southwest will be dominated by an area of high pressure and, consequently, dry and pleasant weather.
Temperatures will be cool in the Pacific Northwest due to more persistent clouds and the risk for showers. Highs in the 50s to around 60 can be expected there.
Elsewhere across the West, highs in the 60s to near 70 are likely, with the exception of the Southwest where highs in the 80s are expected.
