Weather Underground Forecast for Thursday,October 27,2016

A low pressure system will impact the Northeast on Thursday, while heavy rain moves onshore over the West Coast.

A low pressure area will transition east northeastward from the Ohio Valley to New England. This system will usher a mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow over the upper Midwest, the northern Mid-Atlantic and New England. Locally heavy snow will be possible in Upstate New York. Winter weather advisories will be issued for parts of eastern New York. In addition, freezing rain advisories will be in effect for northeast Pennsylvania and northwest New Jersey throughout Thursday morning. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend southwestward. This frontal boundary will kick up showers and isolated thunderstorms in parts of the Ohio Valley, the Mid-Atlantic and the Deep South.

Meanwhile, a frontal system will shift east northeastward over the Northwest. This system will initiate light to moderate rain and high elevation snow in the Pacific Northwest, the Great Basin and the upper Intermountain West. A separate system will move onshore over central and northern California. This system will pack heavier rain, which will likely spread across much of the state. Flash flooding will be a concern for northern and central California, especially along areas of favorable terrain. Most of the Four Corners and the Plains should stay clear of precipitation on Thursday.
