Game 5 will bring the coolest conditions players and fans of the World Series have had to face at Wrigley Field.
The Cleveland Indians took a 3-1 lead over the Chicago Cubs after winning Game 4 on another fairly mild evening Saturday night. Even though clouds were overhead, the rain remained well off to the north and west during the game.
Game 5 at Wrigley Field will determine whether a champion is crowned in Chicago or if the series returns to Cleveland on Tuesday.
The first pitch for Game 5 is slated for 7:15 p.m. CDT on Sunday evening.
Game 5
Rain gear will not be needed for Game 5 as any rain starting on Sunday will depart Chicago by the midday hours.
High pressure will then build overhead for the evening hours, promoting dry weather and continuing to usher in seasonably cooler air.
"Of the three World Series games at Wrigley Field, Sunday night's game will feature the coolest conditions," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Mike Doll.
However, temperatures will still be 10 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the chill both teams experienced during Game 2, when a first pitch temperature of 43 F was recorded.
Fans will not want to leave their jackets at home or in hotel rooms as temperatures should slowly fall through the lower 50s underneath a partly cloudy sky.
A slight wind will hold AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures to the upper 40s.
The winds will once again favor the pitchers over the batters on Sunday evening, according to Doll. "Winds will blow in from right field at 6-12 mph."
Cleveland weather outlook
If Chicago wins Game 5 and the series returns to Cleveland, mild weather awaits fans and players at Progressive Field.

Warmer air will surge back into northern Ohio for the first two days of November. Temperatures will rise 10-15 degrees above normal to afternoon highs in the middle 70s.
Temperatures each evening of Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be in the 60s with the prospect of rain low.
A south to southwest wind ushering in the mild air would help to carry any fly balls deeper into the outfield or the stands.
