Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,October 19,2016

Active weather will impact areas stretching from the southern Plains to the Mid-Atlantic on Wednesday, while a Pacific system shifts over the Northwest.

A cold frontal boundary will extend southwestward from the coast of New England to the southern Plains. Scattered showers will be possible along eastern New England, while showers and thunderstorms fire up across the northern Mid-Atlantic, the Midwest, the Mississippi Valley and the southern Plains. A wave of low pressure along this frontal boundary will bring strong thunderstorms to the Midwest and the interior Mid-Atlantic. High pressure should keep most of the Southeast dry, with the exception to scattered storms along southern Florida.

Meanwhile, another frontal system will sink south southeastward over the northern and central Plains. This frontal boundary will produce light showers from the central high Plains to the upper Mississippi Valley. High elevation snow showers will also be possible in the central and northern Rockies.

Out west, a Pacific low pressure system will approach the Northwest. A warm frontal boundary will generate light to moderate rain across the Pacific Northwest. During the late afternoon and evening, a cold frontal boundary will move onshore over western Washington and northwest Oregon. More moderate rain and high elevation snow will develop ahead of this frontal boundary across Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho.
