Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday,October 18,2016

A cold frontal boundary will shift across the northeast quadrant of the country on Tuesday, while a wintry mix affects the northern Plains.

A low pressure area will shift northeastward across the upper Great Lakes and southeast Canada. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend southwestward over the Great Lakes, the middle Mississippi Valley and the southern Plains. A line of showers and embedded thunderstorms will develop along and near this frontal boundary over the middle Mississippi Valley, the Midwest and the Northeast. Most of the Deep South and the Southeast will stay clear of precipitation, with the exception to scattered storms along the western Gulf Coast and the Florida Peninsula.

Meanwhile, another cold frontal boundary will sink south southeastward over the upper Intermountain West and the northern Plains. This frontal boundary will generate a light mixture of rain and snow from the northern high Plains to the western Great Lakes.

Additionally, light to moderate rain will continue to move onshore over the Northwest, stretching from northern California to Washington. This precipitation will fall as snow showers in the higher elevations of the Cascades and the northern Rockies. Locally heavy snow will be possible in southeast Idaho and northwest Wyoming on Tuesday.
