Cloud and showers will continue to increase across the United Kingdom this week.
Though unsettled weather is expected into late week, this pattern will shield the U.K. from any powerful Atlantic storms.
While no single day looks to be a washout, most areas will see multiple days of wet weather before the end of the weekend.

Along with the threat of showers, clouds will limit sunshine across eastern Scotland and eastern England the rest of this week.
Showers will be scattered across eastern England and southeastern Scotland on Wednesday with a few showers spreading westward across England and into Wales and the eastern coast of Northern Ireland.
During Thursday and Friday, there will be an increase in coverage of showers throughout the United Kingdom. Showers will be numerous across northern and eastern areas on Thursday before encompassing most of the U.K. on Friday.

While an odd shower cannot be ruled out earlier in the week, the highest chance for showery spells in London and Cardiff will come on Friday.
Even for places that experience a shower every day, rainfall will generally last 30 minutes or less at any given time.
Showers and cloud cover will be most widespread across the U.K. on Friday. Combined with seasonable temperatures, it will feel quite chilly, even during the afternoon.
A slow-moving storm system will reach the United Kingdom this weekend and cause rainfall to increase which could have impacts for British Champions Day at Royal Ascot and the Great Birmingham Run.
Looking further ahead, stormy winter is expected across the U.K. and more details can be found in the official AccuWeather winter outlook.
