Tropical Storm Nicole is poised to become a hurricane once again and threaten Bermuda later this week.
After meandering south of the island nation this weekend, Nicole will begin to move northward, then northeastward this week.
The same non-tropical system responsible for pushing Matthew away from the United States will pull Nicole northward this week, according to AccuWeather Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski.

"Interests on or heading to Bermuda should closely monitor the progression of Nicole," Kottlowski said.
As Nicole moves northward, it will enter an environment favorable for strengthening. The system could become a hurricane as early as Tuesday.
Swells will build northward toward Bermuda ahead of Nicole this week. The initial impacts to the islands from this storm will be in the form of rough surf and dangerous rip currents.
"Nicole could be a 100-mph hurricane on Thursday when it passes close to or right over Bermuda," Kottlowski said.

Strong winds, heavy rain and coastal flooding are likely.
A scenario where the center of Nicole passes right over Bermuda or a few miles to the west will likely bring the most severe conditions to the islands.
Residents and visitors to Bermuda should closely monitor the progress of Nicole over the coming days.
In terms of the number of named tropical systems in the Atlantic Basin, the 2016 season has been the most active since 2012.
There have been 14 tropical storms and six hurricanes so far this year in the Atlantic Basin. On average, there are 11 tropical storms and six hurricanes.
However, there are no indications of additional tropical development across the Atlantic Basin into this weekend.
There are some suspect areas, which includes the Caribbean, to keep an eye on during the latter part of October.
The tropical Atlantic hurricane season ends on Nov. 30.
