A potent storm system will evolve across the northern Mediterranean Sea early this week, then slowly travel across Italy, finally reaching Poland by late in the week.
This storm system will spread a wide range of weather across Europe, ranging from showers from the United Kingdom into Denmark, Norway and Sweden to potentially flooding rains in the Alps.

While it is still too early to determine the exact areas that will experience flooding, anyone living or traveling across northern Italy into parts of Switzerland, Austria and Croatia should be prepared for possible travel disruptions.
The potential exists for widespread rainfall of 25-75 mm (1-3 inches) with localized amounts up to 150 mm (6 inches).
On the southern side of this storm, thunderstorms will rumble across southern Spain on Tuesday and Wednesday before shifting into Italy from Thursday into late next week.

This storm system will also pull much cooler air southward with an unseasonable chill to be felt from England and the Netherlands to southern France. This cooler air mass will arrive on Tuesday and last into Thursday.
As the storm system moves eastward, the threat for rain and thunderstorms will shift into the Balkans late next week.
