The mercury will continue to soar in Seattle throughout the weekend and into early next week with temperatures reaching near record highs by Tuesday.
"An expansive ridge of high pressure will lead to a heat wave this weekend and into early next week," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Andy Mussoline said.
On Friday, temperatures will reach into the high 80s, with overnight lows in the mid-60s. Mostly sunny days are in store for the city through the weekend.
As the weekend begins, highs will be around 90 each day from Saturday through Tuesday.
AccuWeather RealFeel temperatures will peak toward 95 each afternoon with sunshine forecast each day.
Temperatures will decline slightly in the evening hours, with more pleasant weather in store for the Mariners series against the Oakland Athletics at Safeco Field.
Friday's and Saturday's games will begin at 7:10 p.m. On Sunday, the game will begin at 1:10 p.m.
"Some record highs may be broken during this stretch," he said. "The normal high is 75 F."
