Just when it was starting to feel like the dog days of summer again, fresh, cooler and less humid air will settle over the Boston area for Friday.
As temperatures rebound to the upper 70s for Friday, the weather will be perfect for outdoor sports and activities. The air will still be warm enough for swimming, but more bearable for those without air conditioning.
After a winter with above-average heating bills from the Midwest to the Northeast, the weather will continue to work toward keeping cooling costs down through the end of July.
Another nice day will unfold for Saturday before a spike in humidity will return the chance for a shower or thunderstorm on Sunday.
Additional showers and thunderstorms will follow for Monday before yet another dose of Canadian air arrives next week.
