A mainly cloudy and mild Monday is on tap for the Early May bank holiday across England and Wales to kick off the upcoming week.
An area of low pressure situated several hundred miles to the northwest of Ireland on Monday will bring a seasonably mild southerly flow to much of the United Kingdom allowing temperatures to climb a couple to a few degrees Celsius above average.
Bristol, U.K. and Manchester, U.K. will see temperatures rise into the middle teens (around 60°F) while London will make a run at the upper teens (mid-60s °F).

With the flow coming up off of the English Channel, communities such as Plymouth and Portsmouth will remain a couple of degrees cooler-than-inland locations thanks to the chillier water temperatures in the Channel.
A cold front will pivot across Ireland and northwestern Scotland on Monday bringing a good amount of clouds to England Wales along the the risk of an afternoon shower or two over coastal areas along the Irish Sea and the St. George's Channel.

More frequent showery spells along with a fresh to near-gale breezes will impact Ireland and far northwestern Scotland Monday making it difficult for some outdoor activities.
As the cold front moves through the U.K. Monday night, isolated showery spells will cross the country but widespread long rainy spells are not expected.
Unsettled weather will persist for the day after Early May bank holiday into the middle of the week as low pressure drifts closer to Scotland.
