The high pressure system that brought the recent heat across the city will weaken considerably heading into the early weekend.
A storm moving into the Pacific Northwest this weekend will bring even cooler air into the city as it increases the flow off of the cool Pacific Ocean, AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Andy Mussoline said.

"In fact, highs this weekend will be below normal as they struggle to reach the lower 60s," he said.
Despite the cool down, sunshine will mix with clouds this weekend. The rain from the storm should stay well north of the city.
Cool, but dry weather will linger into early next week.
"Tranquil weather expected in San Francisco through the early part of next week," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said. "Residents can expect a mix of clouds and sun Saturday and Sunday, but it'll feel much cooler than recent days with high temperatures in the low-mid 60s."
Monday will also feature a partly sunny sky with a cool high around 62.
"The mid-60s are typical high temperatures for this time of year, but the change in airmass will feel much cooler after the city experienced 3 consecutive days in the upper 80s," he said.
