Dry weather and seasonable temperatures are in the offing for Washington, D.C., Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of a taste of summer later this week.
As a disturbance moves southeastward from the Great Lakes into a zone of dry air along the Atlantic coast, many showers associated with it will evaporate. However, enough moisture associated with the system will bring spotty rain to the Washington, D.C., area Monday night.
Dry weather will return for Tuesday and much of the day on Wednesday, complemented by highs in the lower 70s.
The next chance of rain will be Wednesday night.

Spotty showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night will mark the leading edge of much warmer weather for the region later in the week.
Temperatures are forecast to climb into the 80s Thursday through Saturday.
For those looking to enjoy a part of this early taste of summer outdoors, rain should avoid the area Thursday and Friday before the chance of showers and thunderstorms increases during the weekend.
