Warm weather will continue in Atlanta through next week, but a cold front will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms early in the weekend.
"It will be very warm in Atlanta on Thursday with sunshine and highs in the upper 80s thanks to high pressure located off the East Coast," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said.
Temperatures will increase slightly moving ahead.
"It will remain warm on Friday with highs near 85 F and a partly sunny sky," he said.
Shower and thunderstorm chances will return Friday night into Saturday as a cold front approaches from the West.
Drier weather will move in by Sunday, but there still could be a lingering shower or thunderstorm, he said.
