Snow New Year's Eve St. Louis to Cincinnati and Pittsburgh

A storm drifting across the Southern states will bring a light to moderate snowfall from Missouri to part of the Ohio Valley during the last 24 hours of 2012.
Just like areas in the Southwest and the southern Plains, Mother Nature will provide some natural confetti for revelers from St. Louis to Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus and Pittsburgh Monday into Monday night.
A general swath of 1 to 3 inches is forecast for the I-70 corridor. A few places can pick up a little more snow and some areas may barely be dusted in the region.

Accumulating snow will slide south of Chicago once again. A few flurries are possible around Cleveland and Detroit.

A wintry mix is forecast from northern Arkansas and southeastern Missouri to northern Kentucky and portions of West Virginia.

Farther south, rainy weather is in store from Little Rock and Nashville to Houston to close out 2012 and ring in 2013.

During New Year's Day, a wintry mix is forecast in northern Virginia to around Washington, D.C., and part of the Delmarva Peninsula. A few flurries and rain showers could be seen around Philadelphia for the Mummers Parade.
