What's on this weekend: Showers to dampen Three Peaks Challenge, British Summer Time Festival

Though the weekend will not be a washout, the threat for showers will dampen many outdoor plans across the United Kingdom.
Hundreds of thousands of people will be heading outdoors to music festivals taking place this weekend. Three of the biggest are T in the Park, Wireless Festival and British Summer Time Festival.

T in the Park will be taking place at Strathallan Castle, near Perth, Scotland. Those heading out to the event will want to be prepared for a couple of showers each day into Sunday.
High temperatures are expected to be around 19 C (66 F) each day.
Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park and British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park will be taking place in London through Sunday with a series of concerts.
Sports will also be on the main stage this weekend as the finals of Wimbledon take place on Saturday and Sunday.
While most of the weekend is expected to be rain-free, an increase in humidity will make it feel quite warm at times.

This weekend will feature some sunshine, so sun cream will be needed for those heading outdoors. Temperatures will climb to around 23 C (73 F) each day, and the humidity will make it feel even warmer at times.
An odd shower or two will return to London on Sunday. Showery spells are expected to remain to the north on Saturday.
The Three Peaks Challenge requires participants to take on the highest peak in Scotland, Wales and England in a 24-hour time period from Saturday to Sunday morning.
The climbing challenge forces participants to tackle Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and the Ben Nevis in Scotland.
Those looking to take down the challenge will likely encounter several showers during their quest.
While all three locations are likely to have several showers, a longer period of light to moderate rainfall is possible at Ben Nevis with showers lessening for Saturday night at Scafell Pike.

Anyone looking for high speed excitement have a pair of events to choose from.
The Royal International Air Tattoo will take place through Sunday in Gloucestershire. After steady rain grazes the area from the north to start Saturday, the greatest risk for showers will be on Sunday morning.
Temperatures will climb to around 21 C (70 F) each day of the event along with a few sunny spells and a gentle to moderate breeze.
The British Grand Prix at Silverstone will take place on Sunday and while most of the day will be dry, a few odd showers are possible. Any rainfall is expected to last for an hour or less.
Despite any shower, the temperature will rise to near 21 C (70 F) with a few sunny spells.
